Falling-Film Evaporator
The Haarslev Falling-Film Evaporator concentrates stick water and process liquids from meat, fish and poultry by-products using surplus heat or live steam. The thin-film flow pattern ensures fast evaporation, high thermal efficiency and low operating costs. Multiple-effect setups reuse vapour between stages, enabling up to 60% steam savings. Designed for continuous operation, the system boosts meal yield by recovering dissolved proteins while supporting stable, energy-efficient dry rendering.
Main uses
- 01
Stick water concentration (4–6% solids)
- 02
Dry rendering by-product liquids
- 03
Protein recovery up to ~30% solids
- 04
Meat, poultry and fish rendering
Built for
performance
- 01Uses waste heat from dryers or live steam, enabling flexible integration and higher concentrations at lower cost. (Page 2 overview)
- 02Can be combined in multiple effects, with each stage reusing vapour from the previous effect for maximum thermal efficiency.
- 03Available in four configurations: waste-heat, steam-heated, forced-circulation flash, and heat-pump/MVR evaporators. (Page 3 image)
- 04Straightforward, rugged design with easy cleaning and minimal mechanical complexity ensures long service life. (Benefits on p.3)
- 05Improves overall cooking efficiency by pre-evaporating water content, reducing load on the downstream dryer. (Page 2)
Stable evaporation
CORE-EVAP stabilises concentration by controlling steam input, temperature difference and recirculation flow. It reduces fouling risk, minimises waste energy and keeps solids levels consistent even as feed characteristics change. This improves downstream dryer efficiency and product quality.
